Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of L4G.online and our community services operated by L4G.Online (“L4G”, “we”, “us”) from the United Kingdom. Contact: support@l4g.online.
By using the website or forum, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the services. When you create a forum account, you may also need to accept Discourse or forum-specific terms shown during registration.
These terms do not replace mandatory consumer rights under UK law. Nothing here is legal advice.
Services covered
- Main website (l4g.online): informational pages about the community and links to the forum.
- Forum (forum.l4g.online): community discussion hosted using Discourse, including accounts, posts, messages and moderation tools.
Discourse may present its own terms, privacy information and cookie notices during registration or use. Those apply to forum-specific processing and features. Main website controls (such as a future cookie banner on l4g.online) do not automatically control forum cookies or account settings unless we configure integrated tools.
Eligibility and age
You must be at least the minimum age shown during forum registration years old to create a forum account and use community features, unless a higher age is stated in forum rules. If you are under 18, you should use the services with permission from a parent or guardian where required by law.
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your account details up to date.
Accounts and security
You are responsible for activity on your forum account and for keeping your login credentials confidential. Notify us promptly at support@l4g.online if you suspect unauthorised access. We are not responsible for losses caused by misuse of your account where you failed to keep credentials secure, except where we are at fault under applicable law.
Community standards
L4G exists to help people find gaming friends and organise play. You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, abuse, humiliate or discriminate against others;
- post hate speech, extremist content or material that incites violence or illegal activity;
- spam, scam, phish or impersonate others;
- share malware, cheats that violate law or platform terms, or content that exploits minors;
- publish personal data of others without permission (“doxxing”);
- disrupt the service (for example excessive automated requests or attempts to bypass security);
- use the service for unlawful purposes.
Game publishers, platforms and voice-chat tools have their own rules — you remain responsible for complying with them.
User-generated content
You retain ownership of content you submit (posts, usernames, avatars, links and other material), subject to third-party rights. You must have the rights and permissions needed to post your content.
You grant L4G a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute and moderate your content solely for operating, promoting and improving the community service (for example showing posts on the forum, handling reports and maintaining backups). This licence ends when content is deleted from our systems, except where copies remain in backups or where retention is required by law or legitimate moderation records.
We do not claim ownership of your posts.
Moderation
We may remove or restrict content, issue warnings, suspend or terminate accounts, or take other appropriate action if we reasonably believe these terms, forum rules or applicable law have been breached, or to protect users and the service. We are not obliged to monitor all content in advance. Moderation decisions may be exercised by appointed moderators or administrators.
Report abusive, illegal or unsafe content via forum reporting tools where available and by emailing support@l4g.online with enough detail for us to investigate.
Intellectual property of L4G
Website design, branding, logos and original materials on l4g.online are owned by or licensed to L4G and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, scrape or reuse them except as allowed by law or with our permission.
Third-party links, games and platforms
User posts and website pages may reference third-party games, stores, platforms and websites. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
Service availability and changes
We may modify, suspend or discontinue parts of the website or forum for maintenance, security, legal or business reasons. We will try to give reasonable notice where practical, but emergency changes may occur without notice.
Advertising and sponsorship
We may introduce advertising (including Google AdSense) or sponsorship on the main website. Advertising content is the responsibility of the advertiser. Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy describe related data uses when enabled. Advertising will not be treated as active merely because these terms or policies exist — it becomes active only when tags are deployed and, where required, valid consent is obtained.
Disclaimer and liability
See also our Disclaimer. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other non-excludable liability.
Subject to that, we provide the services on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of data, or loss arising from interactions with other users or third-party platforms, except where such liability cannot be excluded.
If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that are not affected by these terms.
Indemnity
If you breach these terms or applicable law and that causes loss to L4G (including reasonable legal costs) due to claims relating to your content or conduct, you agree to indemnify us to the extent permitted by law. This does not apply to the extent a claim results from our own fault.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms or where required for legal or safety reasons. You may stop using the services at any time. Provisions that by nature should survive (including content licences for already-published posts, liability limits where permitted, and governing law) will continue to apply.
Privacy and cookies
Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain how personal data and cookies are handled.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide notice on the website or forum. Continued use after changes take effect may mean you accept the updated terms.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts in England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also have rights under local consumer law. Nothing in these terms affects mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
